ARATAS
Electromechanical relays | formerly OMRON Electronic Components
About the manufacturer
ARATAS Corporation is a Japanese manufacturer of electromechanical components headquartered in Kyoto. The company began operating under its new name in 2026 after OMRON’s Electronic Components business (Device & Module Solutions) was spun off, and it became independent of the OMRON Group on 1 October 2026. The brand carries forward more than 90 years of expertise in reliable electrical switching. Its portfolio includes relays, switches, connectors and sensors, with relay technology remaining one of its core areas of specialisation.
The company’s technological heritage dates back to 1933, when Kazuma Tateisi established a business in Osaka and developed a precision timer for X-ray equipment using relay principles. In 1943, the business developed Japan’s first domestically manufactured microswitch, and subsequent decades brought relays for industrial automation and electronics, including PCB-mounted power devices. ARATAS builds on this experience, focusing on switching endurance, compact design and dependable components for industrial and everyday equipment.
Applications
ARATAS relays are used to switch control and power circuits across a wide variety of electronic equipment:
ARATAS products available from Maritex
The ARATAS products offered by Maritex include electromechanical relays inherited from the OMRON Electronic Components portfolio, which is now developed under the ARATAS brand. The catalogue includes the established G2R family and low-profile G2RL models. Variants differ in coil voltage, contact arrangement, switching capacity and mechanical configuration. These relays are used both in new equipment designs and in long-life industrial and electronic systems.
Main product groups include:
When selecting a relay, check coil voltage and power consumption, the number and arrangement of contacts, AC/DC load ratings, load type and mounting method. Dimensions, insulation clearances, electrical endurance and suitability for the intended equipment are also important. PCB-mounted and socket-compatible versions are not always interchangeable, so verify the complete part number and the datasheet for the exact model.
