About the manufacturer

Bourns is an American electronic component manufacturer founded in 1947 by Marlan and Rosemary Bourns. The company began with precision components for aerospace applications and became especially well known for its Trimpot trimming potentiometers.

Today Bourns offers a broad portfolio of passive and protection components including resistors, potentiometers, encoders, inductors, resettable fuses, surge protection devices, protection diodes, sensors and automotive components.

The company supplies industrial electronics, telecommunications, automotive, power conversion, portable devices and systems that require high reliability.

Applications

The broad Bourns portfolio supports signal and adjustment circuits as well as power electronics and protection applications.

• Power supplies and converters – inductors, current-sense resistors and protection devices.

• Industrial automation – potentiometers, resistors and adjustment components.

• Automotive – sensors, protection devices and passive components.

• Telecommunications – line protection and passive networks.

• Consumer electronics – miniature passive and protection components.

• Battery systems – current-sense resistors and overcurrent protection.

• Measurement systems – precision potentiometers and controlled-value resistors.

BOURNS products available from Maritex

The Bourns range available from Maritex includes a broad selection of passive, adjustment and circuit-protection components for professional electronics.

Available product groups include:

• SMD resistors, including thick-film series.

• Current-sense resistors.

• Trimming potentiometers and trimmers, including the 3386 family.

• SMD inductors and chokes.

• Circuit-protection components.

• Components for power and control circuits.

Available products include CR0402/CR0603 resistors, CRA2512 current-sense resistors, 3386 trimmers and SRU-series inductors. Selection should consider power rating, tolerance, temperature coefficient, package, rated current and reliability requirements.
