DARKOO

LED lenses, reflectors and secondary optics

About the manufacturer

Darkoo Optics Co., Ltd., founded in 2009, manufactures optical components for LED lighting. The company specializes in optical design, mold development, precision injection molding and vacuum-deposited coatings. Its portfolio includes lenses, reflectors and other secondary-optics components for high-power and SMD LEDs.

Darkoo develops both thousands of standard optics and customized designs. This allows luminaire designers to shape light from narrow spot beams to broad and asymmetric distributions for street, industrial and architectural lighting.

Depending on the design, the company works with materials such as PMMA, PC, silicone and glass. Material choice affects optical transmission, thermal behavior, durability and the beam patterns achievable in the finished luminaire.

Applications

Darkoo optics are used to control and shape the light emitted by LEDs. Typical applications include:

  • Street and road lighting – directional and asymmetric beam distributions.
  • Industrial high-bay and low-bay luminaires – concentrating light on working areas.
  • Architectural lighting – spotlights, wall washers and accent lighting.
  • Commercial lighting – downlights, spotlights and display lighting.
  • Outdoor lighting – façade, parking and area luminaires.
  • OEM LED projects – matching optics to a specific LED, PCB and housing geometry.

DARKOO products available from Maritex

Maritex offers Darkoo LED optics for professional luminaires requiring controlled beam distribution.

Available product groups include:

  • Lenses for individual high-power LEDs.
  • Optics with different beam angles and beam shapes.
  • Optical components made from PMMA and related materials.
  • Solutions compatible with popular LED families, including Cree devices.

One example is LENS-BG-01-LSL-24, a 24 deg. lens for a single LED, compatible with Cree XP-C, XP-G, XP-E and XT-E families. When selecting optics, designers should verify mechanical compatibility with the LED and PCB, beam angle, material, mounting method and required light-distribution pattern.
