
Diodes
Diodes are fundamental electronic components that play a crucial role in many electrical and electronic circuits. Characteristics of Different Types of Diodes
- Used to convert alternating current (AC) into direct current (DC).
- Have relatively high junction capacitance and long turn-off time.
- Commonly found in power supplies, bridge rectifiers, and energy conversion circuits.
- Examples: Silicon diodes 1N4007, bridge rectifiers KBPC.

- Constructed with a metal-semiconductor junction instead of a traditional p-n junction.

5. Transient Voltage Suppression (TVS) Diodes
- Designed to protect electronic circuits from voltage spikes and transient surges.
- Function similarly to varistors but respond significantly faster.
- Used in USB port protection, communication lines, and control circuits.
- Examples: P6KE, SMBJ, 1.5KE.
6. Zener Diodes
- Operate in reverse bias mode and stabilize voltage at a specific level (Zener voltage).
- Used as voltage regulators, reference circuits, and overvoltage protection.
- Examples: 1N4733 (5.1 V), BZX55C (series).
- Consist of multiple diodes arranged in a bridge rectifier or specialized multi-diode configurations.
- Designed for high-current and high-voltage applications.

- Examples: KBPC bridge rectifiers, SKKD diode modules.
