LUMINUS

High-power LEDs and advanced light sources

About the manufacturer

Founded in the United States in 2002 to commercialise technology developed at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Luminus Devices manufactures high-performance LEDs. Its specialisms include high-luminance emitters, high-power LEDs and chip-on-board modules. The company serves professional lighting, projection and other applications that require intense, controlled light output.

High flux density and small emitting areas support compact, precisely controlled optics. COB technology can simplify luminaire mechanics but imposes requirements on thermal management and current regulation.

Important parameters include light-emitting size, beam distribution, flux, CCT/CRI, forward voltage, maximum current and thermal resistance. Projection and UV applications require wavelength-specific checks.

Applications

Areas where LUMINUS products are used include:

projection and optical systems
COB fixtures
industrial lighting
stage lighting
spotlights
specialty applications
