ESPRESSIF SYSTEMS

Wi-Fi and Bluetooth chips, modules and development boards for IoT

About the manufacturer

Espressif Systems is a manufacturer of semiconductor devices and wireless communication modules intended primarily for Internet of Things applications. The company is known for the ESP8266 and ESP32 families, which combine a microcontroller, memory, extensive peripheral interfaces and radio communication.

The manufacturer’s portfolio includes SoCs, ready-made wireless modules and development boards. Depending on the family, the devices support Wi-Fi, Bluetooth Classic, Bluetooth Low Energy and other communication standards used in smart devices.

Espressif also develops its own software development environment, libraries, configuration tools and solutions supporting device security. This enables the design of both simple sensors and advanced controllers, communication gateways, operator panels and multimedia devices.

Ready-made modules can integrate the radio chip, Flash memory, optional PSRAM and an antenna. This reduces the number of external components and simplifies device design.

Applications

Espressif solutions are used, among others, in:

• Smart home systems.

• Lighting controllers.

• Environmental sensors.

• Wearable devices.

• Industrial automation.

• Operator panels and displays.

• Audio devices.

• Communication gateways.

• Telemetry systems.

• Battery-powered devices.

ESP32 modules are particularly popular because they combine extensive functionality, wireless communication and a broad range of peripheral interfaces.
