NevadaNano MPS 6.0 – Next-Generation Flammable Gas Sensor Now Available from Maritex

article

NevadaNano has introduced the new MPS™ 6.0 Ultra Low Power flammable gas sensor, setting a new benchmark for low-power, maintenance-free gas detection. As an authorized distributor of NevadaNano solutions, Maritex expands its portfolio with this innovative sensor based on patented Molecular Property Spectrometer™ (MPS™) technology.

The new MPS™ 6.0 has been designed for battery-powered applications, portable devices, and IoT systems where ultra-low power consumption and long-term reliability are critical. The sensor features an average power consumption of only 1.35 mW, reducing energy usage by up to 20 times compared to the previous MPS™ 5.0 generation.

TrueLEL™ Technology – Accurate Detection of Multiple Gases

Powered by patented TrueLEL™ technology, the sensor delivers precise measurement of more than a dozen combustible gases and gas mixtures using a single factory calibration. The MPS™ 6.0 detects hydrogen, methane, propane, butane, isobutane, and many other flammable gases across the full 0–100% LEL range.

Unlike traditional catalytic bead or NDIR sensors, NevadaNano’s solution is immune to sensor poisoning, resistant to saturation, and does not require field calibration throughout the entire operational lifetime. The manufacturer specifies a lifespan of up to 15 years.

Key Features of the MPS™ 6.0:

  • Ultra-low average power consumption of 1.35 mW
  • Multi-gas detection with a single factory calibration
  • No field calibration required
  • Fast response time: T90 < 20 s
  • Built-in temperature and humidity compensation
  • Integrated self-test functionality for enhanced safety
  • Resistant to poisoning and overexposure
  • Compliant with IEC 60079-29-1 Ed. 2.1 Annex A
  • Certified for ATEX, UL, and IECEx applications.
  • Designed for Industrial and Portable Applications

The MPS™ 6.0 is ideally suited for:

  • Portable gas detectors
  • Industrial safety systems
  • HVAC and refrigerant monitoring solutions
  • IoT and smart building applications
  • Battery-powered and wearable devices
  • Hydrogen and process gas monitoring.

The sensor is available in the standard S4 package with a UART interface, enabling easy integration into both new and existing gas detection designs.
