Wolfspeed YM series power modules now available

Wolfspeed introduces the YM family of six‑pack power modules, qualified to the Automotive Qualification Guideline AQG‑324.

Automotive qualified six-pack YM power modules in an industry standard footprint are fully SiC MOSFET-based, designed for high reliability and straightforward integration with a direct-cooled pin-fin baseplate.

Wolfspeed's YM six-pack power modules streamline Silicon Carbide integration into commercial, construction, and agricultural vehicle traction systems with its industry-standard footprint and advanced design.

The YM features an optimized power terminal layout that minimizes package inductance (6.6 nH measured with no wirebonds in power loop) enabling reduced overshoot voltage and ultra-low switching loss.

A direct-cooled pin-fin baseplate enhances thermal performance, while 3 NTCs provide for temperature feedback.

The module assembly is simplified thanks to the press-fit pins. The YM package boasts industry-leading durability through:

- hard epoxy encapsulation,

- sintered die attach,

- a copper top-side clip,

- high performance Si₃N₄ insulation,

- welded terminals.

The Wolfspeed YM modules meet the Automotive Qualification Guideline AQG 324 standard and can be stored and operated at temperatures as low as -55°C. They are available in various current ratings up to 1200V / 700A.
